In this course you will learn the following:
* Analyze the scope, applicability, and intent of the Coast Guard’s cybersecurity final rule for the MTS.
* Identify and interpret key definitions and requirements, including “cybersecurity plan,” “cybersecurity officer,” and “reportable cyber incident.”
* Evaluate and implement account, device, and data security measures on IT and OT systems, including password policies, multifactor authentication, device inventories, network segmentation, and data encryption.
* Develop, maintain, and update a compliant Cybersecurity Plan and Cyber Incident Response Plan.
* Apply procedural requirements for annual cybersecurity assessments, penetration testing, drills, exercises, and personnel training.
* Understand the process and documentation for incident reporting, compliance deadlines, waivers, and equivalency requests.
* Assess the legal and financial consequences of non-compliance with the final rule.
